Baked Brie with Fig Jam, Pecans & Thyme

Baked Brie with Fig Jam, Pecans & Thyme

Cheese & sausage gets a major upgrade.

Ingredients
  • 1 8oz round of Brie
  • 1/3 c. fig jam
  • 1/4 c. pecan pieces
  • Fresh thyme leaves from 2-3 sprigs of thyme
  • 4 Gilbert’s Fig & Feta Chicken Sausages, sliced into thick pieces
  • Crackers of choice
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350F. Cut the thin rind layer off of the top of the brie (leaving the edges and bottom). Place brie in a small baking dish. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the middle is melted.
  2. While the brie is in the oven, toast the pecans. Place pecans in a dry skillet and heat over medium heat, stirring often, until fragrant and toasted - about 5 minutes. Take care not to burn. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Spray the skillet with cooking spray and quickly saute the sausages until the edges are crispy and slightly browned, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Remove cheese from the oven and spread with fig jam. Top with pecans and thyme. Serve with the browned sausages and crackers. Enjoy!
