Pierogi with Cabbage and Smoked Gouda Chicken Sausage

Ingredients
  • 2-4 Gilbert’s Smoked Gouda Chicken Sausages, sliced
  • 16 oz box frozen Pierogi
  • 1 bag shredded cabbage or slaw mix
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • salt/pepper, to taste
  • Sour cream
  • Hot sauce

  1. Heat onion in a large, heavy skillet.  Add onion and saute 2-3 minutes, until beginning to soften.  Add in the shredded cabbage, sliced sausages, salt/pepper, and garlic.  Cooked 3-5 minutes, until cabbage is cooked to your liking. 
  2. Meanwhile, in another skillet, melt butter over medium heat.  Cook Pierogi according to package directions, until golden brown and heated through.
  3. Combine Pierogi with cabbage mixture and serve with a side of sour cream and drizzle of hot sauce.
