Caprese Sausage One-Pot Pasta
Caprese Sausage One-Pot Pasta
An easy-to-make, budget-friendly pasta for weeknight dinners
Ingredients
- 2 Gilbert’s Caprese Chicken Sausages
- 2 cups Rotini or other pasta
- 2 cups Chicken or vegetable stock
- 1/2 Onion, med, chopped
- 1/2 Green Bell Pepper, chopped
- 1 clove Garlic, minced
- 1.5 cups Marinara
- Basil, to garnish
Instructions
If you have a cast iron skillet or stock pot, the “one-pot” pasta method will save you some cleanup time, and produces a richly-flavored pasta your whole family will enjoy.
- Preheat a seasoned skillet or pot with 1 tsp olive oil on medium-high.
- Add onion, green bell pepper and garlic, simmer until onion begins to brown. Add a splash of water if vegetables begin sticking.
- Slice sausages into 1/2" pieces, add to skillet. Heat until browning, tossing occasionally.
- Add stock and pasta. Stir occasionally to keep pasta submerged. Continue cooking on medium-high until stock is reduced and pasta is soft, about 10-15 minutes.
- Add marinara and basil, toss to coat pasta evenly and serve!
