Easy Chicken Sausage Stuffing

A quick & easy stuffing for your Thanksgiving turkey or Sunday dinner

Ingredients
  • 1-2 (your choice) Gilbert’s Chicken Sausages, diced
  • 1 Shallot (med), diced
  • 1 Celery stalk, diced
  • 1 Garlic clove, diced
  • 1/2 round (3-4 cups) Sourdough bread, diced into small cubes
  • 1 cup Vegetable or chicken stock
  • 1/2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 Egg, beaten
  • Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Thyme (diced), to taste, ~1 tsp eacch
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
Instructions
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Warm a skillet to medium-high heat, melt butter
  • Add diced onion, garlic, celery and sausages, brown
  • Add diced breadcrumbs to an ovenproof pot or casserole dish
  • Add all remaining ingredients to breadcrumbs, mix to coat evenly
  • Heat, covered, 45 mins or to desired texture
  • Extra stuffing? Stuff sauteed portobello mushroom caps with stuffing and parmesan cheese, and bake 10-15 minutes at 350 degrees for a very tasty appetizer.
