Here in the Midwest, one of the foods so often missed by those with celiac disease and gluten sensitivity is the beer bratwurst. The memory of an old-fashioned summer brat fry in Sheboygan is enough to make your mouth water. We wanted our beer brat to capture that classic flavor, while being accessible to everyone. Lucky for us, Lakefront Brewery in Milwaukee makes a wonderful gluten-free beer (New Grist) using sorghum and rice instead of traditional barley or wheat. Thus, the world’s first Gluten-Free Beer Bratwurst was born.
