Smoked Gouda Sausage Frittata
Smoked Gouda Sausage Frittata
Try your favorite Gilbert’s in a fritatta with seasonal vegetables. Serves 6-8.
Ingredients
- 2 Gilbert’s Craft Sausages, sliced on the bias into 1/2-inch pieces
- 12 Eggs
- 1/2 cup Whole Milk
- 3/4 cup Smoked Gouda cheese
- 1/2 Onion, medium, chopped
- 1 bunch Broccoli rabe or Broccolini, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Sautée onions in a cast-iron or oven-proof skillet on medium-high
- When onions begin to caramelize, add sausages and broccoli, cook until broccoli is tender, about 10 minutes
- In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk and 1/2 cup cheese and salt & pepper to taste
- Reduce heat to low, add egg mixture to skillet
- Heat about 10 minutes until edges are set
- Add remaining cheese to top
- Transfer to oven, heat about 5 minutes
- Remove, let cool for a few minutes so frittata is easier to remove
