Sausage Breakfast Sandwich
Ingredients
- 1 Gilbert’s Bourbon Apple or Breakfast Sausage, sliced lengthwise then width-wise (4 pieces per sausage)
- 2 English muffins
- 2 Eggs
- 2 Cheddar cheese slices
- 1/2 cup Maple syrup
- 1/4 cup Brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Brown your sausage slices in a skillet on medium-high heat
- Combine syrup, sugar and cinnamon in a mixing bowl, add to skillet with sausages
- Bring syrup to a boil, reduce heat and simmer to reduce syrup mixture
- In a separate pan, fry your eggs
- To each muffin, add one egg, two sausage slices and a slice of cheese
- Wrap muffins in aluminum foil
- To melt the cheese and toast the sandwich, bake sandwiches in your preheated oven for 1-2 minutes. You can also do this on the grill or in a toaster oven.
