Smoked Gouda Sausage Hashbrown Crusted Quiche
A simple, crispy quiche for a weekend breakfast. Serves 4-5.

Ingredients
- 7 oz frozen shredded hashbrown potatoes, thawed
- 1 tbsp butter, melted
- 6 oz frozen spinach, thawed and pressed well to remove as much liquid as possible
- ½ c sweet onion, diced small
- 3 Gilbert’s Smoked Gouda chicken sausages, cut in half lengthwise and then into ¼ inch pieces
- 6 eggs
- 3 egg whites
- Salt, pepper, and garlic powder, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400F. In a large bowl mix potatoes, and butter then season with salt, pepper, and a sprinkle of garlic powder. Press the potato mixture into the bottom of a pie pan, making sure to work the potatoes up the side of the pan. Keeping working the potatoes until you have an even layer. Bake the crust for 30 minutes, until slightly golden brown.
- Meanwhile whisk eggs and egg whites in a large bowl. Fold in spinach, onion, and sausage then season egg mixture with a little salt and pepper.
- Remove crust from oven. Turn heat to 350F. Fill crust with egg mixture and return to oven. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the middle is set. Enjoy!
Notes: Divide into 4 or 5 servings. 4 servings = 5sp/serving. 5 servings = 4 sp/serving.
