Aloha Chicken Sausages

Gilbert’s Aloha Chicken Sausages are much-loved in stir-frys, as a breakfast sausage or straight out of the wrapper. But for summer grilling, our hands-down favorite way to enjoy them is on the bun with tropical toppings.

Ingredients

  • 4 Gilbert’s Aloha Chicken Sausages
  • 4 hot dog buns
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced red cabbage
  • 1/2 cup crushed potato chips
  • 1/4 cup cilantro lime dressing
  • 1/2 cup pineapple salsa* (recipe below)

Pineapple Salsa

  • 6 grape tomatoes, diced
  • 1/4 cup diced pineapple
  • 1/4 cup diced mango
  • 1/8 cup diced red onion
  • 1/2 a jalapeno, thinly sliced + seeds removed
  • 2 tbsp chopped cilantro juice from
  • 1/2 a lime
  • 1/2 tbsp honey
  • sea salt, to taste

Instructions

  • Prepare your salsa ahead of time. You can also buy pre-made mango or pineapple salsa in the produce section of your local grocer.
  • Grill your Aloha sausages. Because of the pineapple in the sausage, the Aloha tends to burn/crisp pretty quickly over a flame. Try to heat slowly to avoid overcooking.
  • Top your sausages to taste.
