Bourbon Apple Slaw
The quintessential topping for our Bourbon Apple Chicken Sausage. Make ahead for your next tailgate or bbq. Serves 4.
Ingredients
- 4 Gilbert’s Bourbon Apple Chicken Sausages
- 4 hot dog buns
- 2 c. shredded cabbage or slaw mix
- 1 small fuji apple, cut into small matchstick pieces
- ¼ c. mayo, light or regular
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp sugar or honey
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp pepper
- 2 tbsp diced green onion, tops only
Instructions
- In a large bowl whisk together the mayo, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir in the cabbage, apple, and green onion. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to use.
- Grill or cook chicken sausages and place inside a bun, top with a generous scoop of apple slaw. Enjoy!
