Bourbon Apple Slaw

The quintessential topping for our Bourbon Apple Chicken Sausage. Make ahead for your next tailgate or bbq. Serves 4.

Ingredients

  • 4 Gilbert’s Bourbon Apple Chicken Sausages
  • 4 hot dog buns
  • 2 c. shredded cabbage or slaw mix
  • 1 small fuji apple, cut into small matchstick pieces
  • ¼ c. mayo, light or regular
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp sugar or honey
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 2 tbsp diced green onion, tops only

Instructions

  • In a large bowl whisk together the mayo, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir in the cabbage, apple, and green onion. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to use.
  • Grill or cook chicken sausages and place inside a bun, top with a generous scoop of apple slaw. Enjoy!
